Education for the underprivileged children is about so much more than just learning to read and write.

Children in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and other countries in the Global South need schools where learning becomes a passion, where students engage in hands-on projects, explore new ideas and collaborate with peers to solve real-world problems. This is at the heart of what WhyBlueSky does.

MOBILE ACADEMY FOR TEACHERS

is a training program for teachers of primary, junior, and senior secondary schools. Teachers participate in weekly, one-hour training sessions held at their school. They receive instructions via their phones and complete training tasks, documenting them with photos, audio, and video recordings. During these training sessions, they learn the activity-based learning method and 21st-century skills development. They then conduct monitored lessons independently, after which they receive feedback from WhyBlueSky facilitators. The program includes 6 one-hour training sessions and 6 monitored lessons. The program consists of 2 sessions, each lasting 3 hours.

THE LEADERS OF CHANGE

This program is designed for facilitators, head teachers, and school-based training coordinators. Through live workshops, participants learn the foundations of Activity-Based Learning and how to foster 21st-century skills in their schools. They also gain practical tools to organize and lead teacher training sessions within their own school communities — becoming true agents of change.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOR THE FUTURE

We create engaging lesson plans that raise awareness about climate change, pollution, and environmental protection. Our programs help students understand the impact of human activity on the planet and inspire them to take action in their communities. We also support students in developing their own environmental projects, encouraging local solutions to global challenges.

WHYBLUESKY SCIENCE CLASS

is a Basic Science lesson program based on the Nigerian curriculum for primary schools. The program includes instructional materials that allow for the complete implementation of the Basic Science curriculum for classes from primary one to primary six. Each lesson also includes scientific explanations, discussion prompts, and a summary note. The lessons are available in apps dedicated to specific grades, and teachers can also conduct lessons using WhatsApp.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

In our program, students learn by doing. Through Project-Based Learning, they work on real-world challenges that build problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity. We train teachers to guide student projects effectively – helping them turn ideas into action and learning into impact.

MIGRATION AWARENESS EDUCATION

Our migration education program helps young people understand the risks and realities of irregular migration. Through interactive lessons, real-life stories, and critical thinking activities, we empower students to make informed choices and explore safer, local alternatives for their future.

WhyBlueSky is a non-profit organization. The teachers we train often earn very little and struggle to support their families. The children they teach may come to school without lunch, or even without shoes.Schools and local education authorities frequently lack the funds for training or basic materials — but the need for quality education has never been greater.Your donation — whether as an individual, organization, or institution — helps us train more teachers, reach more children, and build a future full of opportunity. No amount is too small. Every contribution makes a difference.
